Guide Insights

Ethiopia is a fascinating mix of natural history and cultural heritage. It is a deeply educational safari destination split into a Northern, Eastern and Southern Circuit – which can be combined or travelled separately. Alkaline hot springs, ancient palaces, mountain peaks, forest valleys, waterfalls, monolithic churches, tribes, rare wildlife, granite obelisks, fossils, flora and fauna are just some of the mind-blowing reasons to travel here. The tours allow you to connect with a piece of our human and natural history – to see the African Rift Valley from a scientific perspective while enjoying local hospitality and luxury accommodation. The Bale mountains hold astonishing biodiversity not seen elsewhere in Africa, with 12 percent of the 1300 described plant species being endemic – this alone deserves protection. Fossil records, such as Lucy, a 3.2 million year old human ancestor lay in wait in what is an archaeological hotspot in Africa. It is also a photographer’s dream and in my opinion is somewhere for all interested in expanding their knowledge of our species and planet.
