I spent 4 years exploring and guiding in Zambia and I can testify to the incredible wildlife it has to hold. Working closely with both conservation teams, safari camps and film crews enabled me to build a specialised understanding of the wildlife areas in Zambia. I led countless expeditions on foot, by canoe, boat and vehicle focusing on the prime areas and wildlife spectacles and it was consistently incredible. Some of the best areas are the endless plains of Liuwa where we followed large hyena clans, watched cheetah hunting wildebeest in the calving season and met Lozi fisherman. Living in the Luangwa valley and guiding the BBC offered up leopard sightings like nowhere else! The pink sunrises of the Busanga plains are a must see and if you haven’t been on a walking safari through the elephants and winterthorn forests of lower Zambezi you have a lot to look forward to. As for photographic expeditions – the gallery speaks for itself but I would encourage any photographer to add this destination to their portfolio.
